FCC - Race Night - 25th May

Hello All,

My name is Jon Mather and I have recently joined Finchley Cricket Club. Just a little about me, I am Head coach at Hertfordshire University cricket team, Lead Coach for London Schools Cricket Association, and I am going to be the Age Group Manager for U17s & U19s at Finchely, also a Welfare officer and Board member at Herts Sports Partnership.

I played for North Mymms CC for several years. I love helping young players to reach their potential and imparting valuable experience. I play for Herts Senior team and am hoping to sneak into one of the FCC Senior teams, if selected!. One of my passions is to raise funding for clubs to help improve their facilities for everyone to enjoy and ensuring cricket is for all.

My first fund raising event for Finchley CC will be the Race night on Friday, 25th May from 19:30 onwards and I am hoping we all support much as we can to ensure we raise lots of funding for our members to enjoy some great new facilities.

This how a race night works:-

  1. A race night will consist of 8-10 races
  2. 8 horses per race
  3. Attendees receive a race card upon arrival listing all the race information
  4. They can place bets on the horses and receive a tote ticket. Each bet costs £1, but you can buy as many as you want.
  5. To sponsor a race is £50
  6. To buy a horse costs £5, but you can buy as many horses as you want. If your horse wins you get £20
  7. £5 entry fee to attend event
  8. Last race is a sponsored race meaning you get into groups and bid for each horse. Winning horse owners walks away with 50% of the takings.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Jon
